Wear It Wednesday

Thank you Michael Kors for this amazingly chic transitional line!

This Wear It Wednesday is dedicated to Pre-Fall 2015! It’s been stated on Fashionistyle that “Michael Kors has gone girly — sort of. For transeason, he said he riffed ‘on what I would call clichéd feminine things that I would never touch, like bows and pearls, but looking at them in a very graphic way.’ ”

Here are some great looks:

Wear It Wednesday-NYFW Street Style

New York Fashion Week is more than just about what designers are introducing for next season… it’s also a place where fashionistas from all around come to strut their stuff as photographers stand by, in front of, along side and even near Central Park where Ralph Lauren unveiled his collection or where models strut their stuff at the Salon of Lincoln Park.

What they are saying about Texas and The City

It’s now been 3 months since I introduced Texas and The City to the world. I kicked off a book tour throughout Texas in August and so far it has been going great.

In less than two weeks I will conclude the Texas and the City Barnes and Noble Book Tour throughout Texas in Houston and I’m so excited to round it up in H-town at the Barnes and Noble on Westheimer.

To hear the stories from different readers on how my book inspired them is completely amazing! I feel overwhelmed with joy because this is exactly what I sought out to do. Check out some of the comments here:

Fab Fashion Fridays!!

This Fab Fashion Friday is dedicated to one of my favorite style icons…

Zoe Saldana!

zoe style

Zoe Saldana, the half Dominican Republic and half Puerto Rican is one of my favorite style icons that doesn’t always receive the recognition I believe she is deserved. To me, Saldana makes every day look good… no matter what she is in. This Queens bred actress knows how to style herself appropriately.

I see Zoe‘s street style as the chic girl next door. It’s the look you would see any girl in but its something about the simplicity of her looks that makes it even more chic. I call her the edit queen! She is never overdone which allows her natural beauty to shine through.

Zoe Saldana looks cute for 'Extra' - Part 2 **USA, Australia, New Zealand ONLY**

When Zoe gets ready for the red carpet she is transformative. She’s sometimes whimsical, edgy, feminine but always chic.  She can pull off just about anything.

Now as a glowing mommy to be her fashion does not change. She is still fashion forward.

Zoe Saldana is seen on 'Good Morning America' in New York City

Shoes and SJP… it just makes sense!

When I read of Sarah Jessica Parker new shoe line in O Magazine there was no question or curiosity… to me, it just made sense. This icon portrayed one of the best television characters for us chicks as Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and The City. As this character she lived for fashion and most importantly beautifully crafted shoes.

How exciting it is to see her name attached to something that us ladies already connected her name with!

Sarah Jessica Parker in the campaign for SJP

SJP made sure to give her very best to this shoe line. She shared her inspiration about her upcoming footwear saying:

“I’ve taken inspiration from things in my life such as the grosgrain ribbons I tied in my hair as a girl, to the flower accents from the Sex and the City wardrobe, to references to classic styles from the late Seventies and early Eighties. I’m a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come.”

I love that she drew inspiration from her well known character and even named a shoe after it! The “Carrie” Pump is as timeless as the “Sex and the City” episodes I never grow tired of watching.

The "Carrie" pump from Sarah Jessica Parker's collection for Nordstrom.

The much anticipated shoe line will debut in Nordstrom on February 28th and pricing will begin around $195. Although some may state this is a little pricey, I beg to differ when comparing the Manolo Blahnik‘s or Jimmy Choo‘s Carrie Bradshaw proudly sashayed in. Each shoe will have a specific name and her line will also include handbags and the “Manhattan” trench coat!

Here’s a sneak peak on what’s to come:

Diana, $365                                                       Etta, $425

Pola, $365                                                        Stella, $365

The “Leslie” wedge in coral ($245)

Inez, $245 ;                                              Wallace, $220

Ladies… start your engines because it will be a mad dash come February 28th!

In the words of Carrie Bradshaw “Men I may not know, but shoes — shoes I know.”

The Bodacious Beyonce’

Yes…I’m taking a moment to discuss this

Hair Raising News… literally!

So while on my commute to the city I am reading the news of the day… Beyonce’ cuts her hair! This is too funny to me. I love me some King B but it’s comical how this has caused a twitter frenzy along with top news via Yahoo and many blogs such as mine!

I think Bey’s new look is bold and to me about time! I love when people dare to be different. I KNOW this will start a new movement with most going to do the big chop as well but my hope is that it actually revive those to BE THEMSELVES and BE DIFFERENT! Try something new… not because Beyonce’ did but because you want to. BE YOU peeps!

And my last comment… I await the day my haircut causes as much news as hers! LOL!
