I Ain’t Too Proud to Beg… for Jesus that is

So a friend and I were discussing over the weekend how we like to switch up secular lyrics with those of the word from Jesus.

I’m sitting in Starbucks getting some work done and I became inspired by a song that came on Pandora. “I Ain’t too Proud to Beg” by TLC.

Ok, I know your first thought is girrrrl… you were able to convert the lyrics of “I Ain’t too Proud to Beg” into words of light, love and encouragement from God?! I gotta finish read this!

beg

Well, let me share with you. As the song came on, I began to tap my feet to the beat, nod my head in rhythm and while a grand smile emerged, I began to type out my inspiration. I thought of my current season. The bible states “to every thing there is a season” Eccl. 3. Two specific versus from this chapter stuck out to me that reference my current season.

“A time to tear down and a time to build, as well as a time to be silent and a time to speak.” I can’t help but take the words of TLC and change them as a cry out to God, boldly stating “I ain’t to proud to beg for God’s direction as I rebuild. I ain’t to proud to beg while I speak up declaring the promises He has shared with me. I ain’t to proud to beg for what God called my own!.”

Can I get a yes and Amen?

beg logo

The definition of beg, is “to ask (someone) earnestly or humbly for something.”

I am earnestly and humbly asking God to strengthen me through the peaks and the valley. I humbly ask for Him to comfort me as my confidence is restored and boldly declare aloud those things He already promised me.

Told you this was going to be good. 🙂

The bible says “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7. I’m earnestly asking, seeking and knocking even in the midst of the storm, transition or simply stated “the world being the world.” Trust, I can find a message in just about anything due to the way my GODFIDENCE™ is set up. *BIG SMILE*

Have you ever changed up the lyrics of a song from the secular world to fit into #TeamJesus? I would love to hear your experience.

If you haven’t experienced it yet, look for the messages soon to come. Trust, when you are tapped into His frequency, it will come in anything.

Be Inspired. Speak Life. Stay Confident!

Ignite your Sense of Smell

So we are on Day 4 of #LiveIntentionally and since the focus of January is Wellness, I’ve broken each week down for digestible chunks that set you up for success in completing!

This week is all about Mental Health and today we are talking about how igniting your sense of smell increases positive mental health. Did you know there are over 200 versus in the bible that speak on the use of oils and fragrant incense? And I say… if it’s healing and greatness in the bible… than it’s something of a necessity for you and I!

smell1

Did you know smelling flowers before going to sleep can lead to more positive dreams?  How fascinating right?! It’s been stated that “research is increasingly showing, smells can impact on almost everything, from dreams and emotions, driving, stress and gambling, to pain, concentration, memory and romance.”

essential oils

Essential Oils are a must have for me! From needing relaxation to a morning pick me up, essential oils do the trick. Below is a list of some essential oils and benefits for your mental health.

“Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.  And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. Genesis 1:11-12

To be effective, it’s best to use these essential oils in it’s purest forms. Don’t settle for the synthetic or adulterated oils as they may be more cost friendly but will not have the same effects. If you suffer with nervous tension or anxiety attacking your mental health, try mixing these oils for a home remedy:

Nervous Tension
This blend will relax the nervous system, ease tension, and bring emotional equilibrium.
· 10 drops Lavender
· 10 drops Petitgrain
· 4 drops Roman Chamomile

Nervousness/Anxiety/Insomnia
This blend will profoundly relax the individual, induce sleep, and bring calm to an active mind that is preventing the correct emotional balance and total relaxation.
· 10 drops Lavender
· 10 drops Basil
· 3 drops Neroli

girl smellGet out there and ignite your sense of smell. Whether it’s with stopping to literally smell some flowers to stop anxiety, sniff some citrus to relax as it increases levels of the stress-related hormone norepinephrine, or take a wiff of coffee for a morning or mid-day pick me up (without the need to consume), smells can increase positive mental health and even heal the sick so take advantage.

Remember what the word says “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14(NKJV)

Live Intentional – Wellness

Happy January 4th everyone!!

Jan Wellness

As stated in the previous post, each month for 2016 will have a specific focus in order to #LiveIntentionally ! This month is all about wellness.

For January week 1 – It’s all about Mental Wellness

Mental Wellness is defined as “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”

With this definition, I will share tips each day this week that will help reduce the stresses of life and will help you work productively.

Today is all about breathing

breathe

Breathing is one of the quickest easiest ways to relax, release stress and gain clarity to become more productive.

breathing1

Slow, deep breaths can help lower blood pressure and heart rate . For the fancy noses out there, try pranayama breathing, a yogic method that involves breathing through one nostril at a time to relieve anxiety. The technique’s supposed to work the same way as acupuncture, balancing the mind and body (and possibly eliminating the need for a tissue).”

Try this today and share your experience. Remember, every tip ties back to Living Intentionally. When we take the time to just breathe, we give ourselves to enjoy more things in the moment. We open ourselves up to give our best selves and because of this, we will do things with intent that will cause our lives to blossom!

Breathing opens yourself to God’s blessings.

Job 33:4“The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”

Recognize the breath God has given you and live intently, on purpose and on fire for what HE has for your life!

Confessions of a Confidence Coach!

Hey there, guess what…

birthday calm

And as usual, I like to reflect on my past year but this year, I’m doing it a little different. I’ve decided to not only reflect on this past year but to reflect on my entire life! I call this my:

Confessions Base

Confessions of a Confidence Coach!

Each day throughout my birth month I will share thirty-five life lessons I know to be true from my thirty-five years on this earth. I will blog about it, podcast, vblog or whatever I feel to share the message. This is my way of giving back to the masses. I’ve decided my 35th year will be the year of transparency. My hope during this process is that my life lessons will help you to reflect, share your truth or even allow you to gain an aha or piece of inspiration from my life to continue on your journey.

Here is Life Lessons #1:

LL1

Throughout my life there have been times where I’ve shined brightly, showcasing my talents and being a bodacious leader. Then there have also been times I did not. I dimmed my light so those around me could be comfortable. My lesson is… “you should never dim your light for the comfort of others.”

Each of us were given a specific gift. In Ephesians 4:1 “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” This to me shares we are ALL giving a specific calling and it’s our duty to walk worthy in it no matter what others say. Never allow your light to be dimmed simply because it makes others uncomfortable. You are not living for them… your life is for HIM and that’s what matters most.
